Nature's Spoof

Nature's Spoof

written by Rod Hatter

The rain is pounding on the roof,
reminding me of Nature's spoof.
Dreaming now of days that dry,
while the dampness makes me cry.
Knowing that there are good reasons,
why our world rolls 'round in seasons.
Without rain there'd be no green,
no great forests, so serene.
Without rain there'd be no fish,
or wells, where we could cast a wish.
Without rain there'd be no lakes,
or no oceans... for Heaven sakes.
Without rain, I couldn't shower,
so all are blessed by Nature's power.
Then comes Spring, with worldly wonder...
All our minds begin to plunder...
Thoughts of days when skies are clear.
Days spent outside, Drinking beer.
Days we ride, days we party.
Sunshine makes us all feel hearty.
But for now I'll have to listen,
to the splash, who's shadows glisten,
reflecting back the reasons why...
the rain is falling from the sky.
